1. The Dictate App

Dictate processes your voice entirely on your Mac using Whisper running on Apple Silicon's Neural Engine. Audio never leaves your device. The app does not create accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not transmit telemetry, usage statistics, crash reports, or any other data about how you use it.

Sparkle, the open-source update framework embedded in the app, periodically requests the file https://dictate.norelabs.com/appcast.xml to check for new versions. This request transmits standard HTTP headers (your IP address, the User-Agent including the app version and macOS version). No additional data is sent.

2. This Website

This website (dictate.norelabs.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to record aggregate visitor statistics — page views, country, device class, referring source. Google sets the _ga and related cookies on your browser. Analytics is disabled by default and only loads if you press Accept in the cookie banner. Choosing Decline leaves Analytics disabled for this site, and no analytics cookies are set.

We do not use any other analytics tools, advertising tracking pixels, session replay tools, or third-party scripts.

3. Payments

Payments inside the Dictate app are processed by Lemon Squeezy, acting as Merchant of Record. When you purchase, Lemon Squeezy collects your billing email, payment method, and country to issue a license, calculate sales tax/VAT, and send a receipt. We receive your billing email and a license identifier — nothing else. Lemon Squeezy's privacy practices are governed by their privacy policy.

4. Data We Hold About You

The only personally identifying data we ever hold about a paying customer is the email address used at checkout (so we can send your license) and the license key associated with that email. We do not hold any audio, transcripts, dictation history, or behavioral data — these never leave your Mac.

5. Your Rights

You may at any time request deletion of your purchase record by emailing support@norelabs.com. We will delete your record within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements (Polish accounting law typically requires retention of payment records for 5 years).
